MID-YEAR GENERAL MEETING

A General Meting will be held at La Garrota Restaurant at 10.30 am on Tuesday 26^th July 2005.

It is important that we have a good attendance to meet the statutory requirements for a quorum for the meeting to proceed.

Nominations will be required for the positions of President, Vice-President and three Committee members. These should be sent or handed, in writing, to the General Secretary by 9^th July 2005; they should show the proposer and be signed by the nominee to indicate that they are prepared to accept if elected. An individual member may propose him or herself.

The secretarial tasks are now shared between several Committee members but we need a volunteer to join the Committee and take on the role of General Secretary.

Propositions for the agenda should be sent in writing to the General Secretary by 9^th July 2005. An agenda will be published on 11 July 2005.

Members continue to ask about proxy voting. This is to be permitted under the Club’s revised statutes. However, these are still awaiting formal approval by the Valencian government. The lawyers acting for the Club in this matter have sought update from the government and been informed that the new statutes will be ratified before the end of June 2005. In anticipation of this, members may prepare signed proxy letters and hand/send them to the General Secretary, or to a member attending the meeting.
