GANDIA AREA SOCIAL CLUB (INTERNATIONAL)

A number of GASC members meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (between 9.30 and 10.00 am) at Club de Golf, Gandia. This Golf Club is in a pleasant and secluded setting amongst orange groves not far out of Gandia town, between the town and the playa.

The Golf Club´s 'course' has only six holes, all par 3 (course total is par 18) the longest of which is 83 metres - so it is not really for serious golfers. However, members do find it a good venue to practice their short game. And the Golf Club does boast an adjacent 180 metre driving range where golfers can hone their long game. The "7th hole" consists of a small bar facility, a terrace and a coffee machine. Click for a plan of the greens (this will open into a seperate window).

It is stressed that the Golf Club is a Spanish-owned private members' facility with an annual members' subscription. For some years GASC members have enjoyed a discounted subscription rate, although this was negotiated originally on the basis of their 'pensionista' status, rather than GASC membership. The 2005 discounted subscription is 240 euros (120€ for a half year). (note: I believe this is the correct rate). Non-Golf Club members can use the facilites on payment of green fees, 10 euros per day at present.
