GANDIA AREA SOCIAL CLUB (INTERNATIONAL)
We hope to develop interest in fishing as a new activity for our club - we know that there are keen anglers amongst our members, but no local angling clubs to serve them (the nearest being a 'Spanish' one at Pego or a 'British' one at Alcalali). We also know that there is a wealth of both sea and freshwater fishing all year round in this region from Pego in the South, to Sueca in the North and Beniarres in the West. The frustration for us ex-pat anglers in this area in particular is the lack of information available regarding venues and fishing techniques. To this end we hope to discover more about the sport here, maybe organise local competitions or day trips further afield. Suggestions include: Marjal de Oliva/Pego, Beniarres Reservoir, River Jucar, Rivers Serpis & Vernissa, or along the beaches between Cullera and Denia. Freshwater fishing:
Common Species:
Roger is the person to contact for more information or if you want to get involved in all of this (96 280 1478 or 666 070 040) or make suggestions to any of the committeee members. Whether you are a keen amateur, a beginner or a professional then contact our group. We hope to be arranging events in this sport, which could be just tadpoling, fishing for 'pumpernickel' (a small fish found in this area) or proper competitive angling. To know more about fishing or angling then click on this link which will take you to another page with more local information, hints and tips. This page is what we have discovered or can tell you about so far. Friday 21 April 2007
